Real Techniques Bold Metals Collection | 301 Contour Brush Review

If you are a big beauty fan then I'm sure you've heard of Real Techniques brushes, which are designed by Beauty Youtubers Sam & Nic (Pixiwoo). They are fantastic quality, affordable brushes (many of which I own!). To much excitement to many people (including myself!), they announced they were bringing out a new brush line called the Bold Metals Collection. Now the one main difference with this collection compared to the other real techniques brushes, is the price. The new collection is more expensive, but is meant to be made as better quality brushes. Having had a look at the brushes available, there was one main one that took my fancy, which I jumped at getting!

This is the 301 flat contour brush, and is £22.

Now there really isn't any need to explain why I wanted to get this brush first. It literally looks like the most amazingly perfect contour brush, without having to pay out even more for the likes of the Nars Ita brush.

The idea behind these new brushes is that they are made to be premium quality. The usual line of Real Techniques bruhes are fantastic quality anyway, but these new brushes are made to be for professional makeup application. One thing that disgruntled a lot of people was the price. The cheaper brush line would cost around the same for a little set of brushes, as it does for one of the brushes from the Bold metals line. However, just by picking up one of these new brushes, the difference is quality is very noticeable.

These brushes come in 3 colours - gold, silver, and rose gold. The prices also vary dependant on the type of brush. When you hold the brush, you can feel it's a lot heavier than normal brushes, and the weight is around the bristle end of the brush. This makes it so comfortable to use, and it also allows the application to be a lot easier. The brush itself is so soft, and the bristles pick up so much product. The brush is also shaped like a hexagon, so that it doesn't roll around on your makeup table!

The bristles on this contour brush are about 1 inch thick, which allows you to create a sharp contour line, but still able to blend out the contour too. It's very easy to use, and so far I am extremely impressed.

I definitely want to get my hands on some of these brushes. They are available exclusively in Boots. http://www.boots.com/
