ELF HD Mattifying Cream Foundation | Review

Today I have a review on a new foundation I purchased from ELF! As a huge lover of ELF makeup, I love to try out their new products and always take advantage when they have 50% off! I brought the HD Mattifying Cream foundation, as it is a fairly new product out that I haven't tried yet.

This foundation is £7, and comes in a selection of different shades. I got mine in the shade 'Sand' which is a perfect match for me. I have tried the Flawless Finish Foundation, and wasn't really impressed with that. The coverage was brilliant, but the smell of the product was awful and it was very heavy and oily on the skin. I was hoping that this HD cream foundation, would be different. Although I will admit, I was kind of expecting it to be the same as the flawless finish foundation!
Now, onto what the product claims to do! It claims to be an oil free foundation that is lightweight and perfect for normal to oily skin types. The cream to powder formula is meant to minimize fine lines, and leave you with a natural long lasting matte finish.

You get a sponge with the product but I chose to apply it using a round topped face brush. I found the consistency of the product to be very creamy, and almost a little oily, which I was immediately worried at after the problems with the flawless finish foundation which also claimed to be oil free! But once you start blending the product onto the skin, it applies with ease and seems to go onto the skin so smoothly. I found one layer wasn't quite enough for me, but after two layers it looked beautiful! Although its meant to be a matte finish foundation, it did have a slight dewy finish to it, but nothing too over the top. In fact, it gave my skin a beautiful healthy glow! I didn't apply any powder to set it, I just used a tiny bit of concealer and then bronzed/added blush as usual. I was really happy with the colour of the product, it wasn't orange and looked so natural on my skin!

One of the main things I was impressed with this foundation, was how light it felt on my skin! When I tried the flawless finish foundation (which is ELF's liquid foundation), it felt extremely heavy and oily on my skin, even though it was oil free. But this cream foundation felt so light and didn't feel sticky on the skin, nor heavy! I love the finish the product gave to my skin, I really was taken hugely by surprise! 

I wasn't going to get too excited about this product until I'd seen how it lasted throughout the day, but honestly, it looked just the same as I'd applied it after a good 6 hours wear! I hadn't set the foundation with powder either, it had lasted that long all by itself. I really can't fault the lasting power of this product, it's brilliant! I do get dry skin, and I found it didn't cling to it. I also get oily around the nose area and most foundations will wear off around this area throughout the day, but this one didn't! I really can't fault this foundation, I had no problems with it at all!

I only have two concerns. Firstly, you get 9.5g of product which to the eye, doesn't look a lot. I just worry that this will be a product that will run out quickly. But at £7 it is a very reasonably priced foundation. And ELF usually have 50% off, or some sort of offer on, so you can get it cheaper. I will be looking out for the 50% off again so I can stock up on it!
Secondly, the shade I got was the second to lightest shade, so for people with really pale skin, you probably won't be able to get this foundation as it could be too dark for you.
I can't really comment on how this product will work for people with acne and scarring. But I would say this product gives a good medium coverage after two layers. 
If you have dry or oily skin, I believe this will be ok for you, as it worked well with my dry areas and my oily bits!

Overall, I think this foundation is fabulous! I really like it a lot, and I love the fact I was expecting to be a failure, but I think I could of just found my new favourite foundation! I really love it! I will be repurchasing this a lot, and will 100% recommend it!

L'Oreal Paris Nude Magique Eau De Teint Review

I saw this foundation advertised on TV and after seeing it on special offer in boots I had to get it and try it out. It was £6.99 but is usually £9.99.

I think it's always good to have a lighter foundation in your makeup collection for days when you don't want to wear much, so I was very excited to try this one out.

My first impressions of the packaging is good. It comes in a glass bottle and you get 20ml of product which admittedly is less than a usual foundation but the product is a lot thinner than a usual foundation. L'Oreal claim that the product is lighter than water, which is very true. The consistency of the product is watery and when you apply it, it is very light and dries quite quick. The coverage isn't the most amazing but after a second light coat and some concealer and powder, you are good to go! I have been trying out the products wearability today and so far I am impressed. 

The finish is very natural and your skin feels like you are not wearing any product at all. Because it is so light it isn't cakey at all. After 5 hours of wear, the product doesn't need to be reapplied. I made sure I didn't wear a primer or use a setting spray so I could get the best impression of how the product holds up. 

As you can see from the above two photos the product is very runny but does blend in nicely. 

Over all I am happy with this product. I think it's perfect for summer and for winter days if you've got dry skin. A lot of people have been slating the product because it doesn't have the best coverage but I personally think it's good for a lightweight foundation. I am impressed with the lasting power of it as I was expecting it to fade off the skin quite quickly. Obviously it's not a product that's going to be to everyone's taste but if you like a product with a lighter coverage and is going to be lighter on the skin, then this one will be for you. I would give this a rating of 8 out of 10, simply because the coverage isn't anything amazing and also the colour range isn't that great. But apart from that I will be using this again.

My Current Favourite Makeup Products

I had been recently thinking about all of the great new products that I have discovered recently and using religiously. So I thought I would do a 'favourites theme' on my next few blog posts, showing you my favourites makeup items, skincare, hair care, nail polishes, etc. I thought I would start off today with my current favourite makeup items, as I do love my makeup! These products are just what I have been reaching to use everyday and loving the most!

MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC20:
I have been loving this foundation so sooooo much since I first purchased it a few months ago. I usually was a drugstore foundation girl, but had got a bit fed up with the same old foundations and wanted something a little more pricier and hopefully better quality! And it is no doubt that MAC products are brilliant quality and this foundation is a beauty! The coverage is brilliant and it matches my skintone perfectly! I find you need to hardly use any product at all as a little goes a long way, and it also stay on all day which means no touch ups, yay!! I was originally only going to use this on special occasions, but it's become one of my most used foundations as I never have any problems with it looking dry, patchy or oily. It just really is perfect, and despite the high price, I would still re-purchase it 100%!!

Ardell Fabulous Lashes in 'Tokyo':
I literally love these lashes so much! They are so natural looking and blend in with your natural lashes perfectly. They do look like they would look fake and in general a bit over the top, but when I fist put these on, they looked gorgeous! They are just a little bit longer than my natural lashes so they don't look fake at all, and they brighten up your eyes, making them look big! These are perfect for night's out when you want a casual but glam look, and even better is the fact you can get these for 99p (YES 99P!!!!) from cosmetics fairy! www.cosmeticsfairy.co.uk

Accessorize Baked Blusher in 'Scandal':
I am a big fan of baked blushers and I love the fact they are shimmery. One of my all time favourites is this one by Accessorize. I have had it for about a year now and it's still pretty much full! You get 8g of products for £4.99, and this blusher is really pigmented and has a gorgeous glow.I love the colour of the products - a lovely warm toned pink with a gorgeous shimmer running through it. It gives your cheeks a natural glow as well as a lovely burst of colour.

Benefit Powder Time Lover:
This little set of powders by Benefit is a little box of luxery. You get two blushers (Dandelion and Coralista) and you also get the Dallas bronzer. I have been loving the bronzer in the little box, it gives me such an amazing glow and warmth to my skin! It blends in super nice into my skin and looks really natural. I have also been loving the coralista blusher for when I'm wearing fake tan (as a darker blush), it looks really pretty! As for the Dandelion blush, as you can see I haven't used that as much but it's really nice for natural makeup days!

Emite Eyelash Curlers:
I got these curlers from a Glossybox and absolutely love them! They are super sturdy and feel very comfortable to use. They make my lashes look longer and they stay like that the majority of the day. Over the years I have tried various curlers but none have worked as well as these!

Urban Decay Naked Flushed:
I have been loving my flushed palette! This little palette from the naked range is a blusher, highlighter and bronzer combo and is only £20! I have been using the highlighter every single day as it gives my cheek bones a gorgeous natural glow and blends in so easily. The bronzer is also lovely and perfect for day to day wear. Maybelline Rocket Mascara:
My holy grail mascara is the loreal false lash flutter, but I have found myself reaching for the rocket mascara alot more recently! I find this mascara so easy to use and because the brush is so huge, it fully coats your lashes and makes them visibly longer! The only downside would be that it's not waterproof, so you often get the product under your bottom eyelashes. But thats no problem as next time I will just get the waterproof one! I think this is the best Maybelline mascara ever out of them all! 100%!!

Bourjois Color Boost in 'Peach On The Beach':
Again this is another product which I have done a full review on so go check that blog post out for more info! But I am in love with this chubby stick! The finish is glossy but also the product stays on for at least 4 hours! The pigmetation is amazing the colour is a gorgeous pinky peach. This is such a flattering product and I have found myself reaching for it daily!

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Review

Okay, so I know that I am ridiculously late to jump on the bandwagon with this foundation, but I FINALLY got around to get the healthy mix serum foundation by Bourjois and I thought I would do a review on it for you!
So everyone started raving about this foundation quite a while ago - in fact agessssss ago (I really am late for getting this aha!). But I am quite fussy when it comes to foundations, and I am also useless at getting the right shade for my skin! However, recently I have been branching out and trying different foundations - whether it be the Mac studio fix fluid, or the Rimmel Match perfection foundation. So after hearing all the good things about this foundation (and with the help of 3 for 2 at Boots!!), I purchased this infamous beauty!
I got mine in the shade 53, Light Beige - which is perfect for my skin!! Near exact match :) !!
It was £10.99, which isn't cheap, but at the same time it's not overpriced. The bottle does look like it doesn't contain much product, but upon inspection you get 30ml which is the same as an average bottle of foundation (for example; Rimmel Wake Me Up). 
It's a gel foundation which claims to give 16hours radiance and a revived complexion. I like that it's a gel foundation because it doesn't lay on top of your skin, it blends in really nicely into all the annoying hard to get areas! However it doesn't really look or feel like a gel foundation. The coverage isn't that great at all, but the product is buildable and doesn't look too cakey when you apply and extra generous layer!! It doesn't feel sticky to touch or heavy on the face, and once you have applied this product, it does look very natural and gives your skin a healthy glow. I love this foundation, and its sure as going to be a big favourite of mine over the next few months I'm sure! I've been using it every day since I got it and I love the finish on my skin. Plus the best thing about this foundation is that I don't need to top it up at all through out the day! It really does look as flawless and natural after wearing it for 8 hours plus, as it does when you apply it first time in the morning! I really am kicking myself for not buying this sooner, but I would recommend this 100% if you are looking to try it out yourself!

Loreal Paris BB Cream Review

Hi all,
Today I am going to do a review on the Loreal Paris BB Cream. I know this come out quite a while ago and I did get sent some samples before it was released, but I have only got around to  buying the full version recently, and I'm loving it for a low-key summer time look.

This retails at around £7.99 and I got mine from Superdrug, although you can also get it from Boots and anywhere that sells Loreal products. Mine is in the shade light, which just happens to be the most popular shade, so stock is usually low in most shops. Your best bet is to order this online unless you're lucky like I was and got the last one in the shops! I've tried the Garnier and Maybelline BB creams, but none of them compare to this one. I find this BB cream smooth and so lightweight. It's easy to blend in and isn't too orange like some of the others. It's perfect for a summer time look, especially when it's hot and you don't want to wear a heavy foundation. It gives your skin a healthy glow, yet still looks natural and it feels like your not wearing any products at all.

The product comes out as a white liquid and as you blend it in, it turns into a light foundation consistency. It's almost like magic! They also do a blusher version, and some others for blemishes, which I haven't tried as of yet. But I do highly recommend this BB cream. It's by far the best out of all the ones I've tried and it really is perfect to take on holiday. I love the natural look and feel it gives. 10 out of 10 for me!!

Me Me Me Flawless Cream Foundation Review

Hello!

Another day, another foundation review. I had heard such a big hype about the flawless cream foundation by Me Me Me, so I decided to ty it out. Price wise, £12, it is quite expensive for a drugstore foundation, but I really do like it! It has a nice creamy cool texture and is so easy to apply, which I am glad about because I was expecting it to be really thick and hard to apply! When I looked online to the Me Me Me website, they had 4 colours you could choose from, but when I went into Superdrug they had 5! So there isn't a huge range of tones to choose from, but I got mine in the shade 'Honey Lush'.

I find that this foundation is my perfect skin tone match, which I am really glad about because I usually find it really hard to get a perfect match. It gives a medium to high coverage and leaves you skin feeling smooth and looking flawless. I really do recommend this foundation. I have been wearing it non stop since I got it!

Product Review - Maxfactor Colour Adapt Foundation

I'm starting to get into the flow of Blogging now, so expect to see more blog post's up soon! I have a few more products that I'm going to be reviewing soon, so keep an eye out, but for now I have a foundation review for you!

I went shopping the other day for a new foundation and came across this - Maxfactor Colour Adapt Foundation. As far as I know, it's new, or at least only came out not long ago. It was £9.99, which I think isn't bad at all for a foundation, especially a new one! The packaging was a bit crap - plastic and boring....but of course it was what was inside that packaging that I was interested in.

I have to say, I do quite like it! It gives a flawless finish, and a good coverage. It is also quite light on the skin and blends in really well. The feel of the foundation was so nice, it feels like a mousse/cream, which is nice. And the colour is natural. If I had to give this foundation a mark out of 5, it would be a 4! It would of been nice to have a smell to it, as it didn't smell of anything! But apart from that I really do like it!

I can see this being my new fave foundation!
