ELF Moisturizing Lipstick | Review

I'm back with another ELF review! This time it's the new moisturizing lipsticks! I was very excited when I heard ELF had brought out some new lipsticks, so taking advantage of the 50% off on Boxing Day, I brought 5 to try out!

I love them of course!

Before these lipsticks came out, ELF only did two other types of lipsticks - the basic range at £1.50 each, and the mineral range at £5 each. Now these lipsticks have come out for the studio range at a very affordable £3.75 each! 

They do a large colour range and the pigmentation is brilliant. I will admit that some of the lipsticks didn't feel as moisturising as others, but the lasting power was brilliant and they seemed to stay on for a long time. The 'party in the buff' and 'pink minx' seemed the creamiest, whereas 'Rosie go round' and 'coral cutie' seemed for matte and dragged a little. But I think these are great quality for the price. Compared to the basic range of lipsticks, they have better staying power. And they are quite similar to the mineral lipsticks, just not too overly creamy. I do love these though and will be buying them again!!

Wet n Wild eyeshadows. A new found love!

Today I am going to be sharing with you a new found love of mine, which is some lovely cheap eyeshadows! This is quite strange for me as I usually don't wear eyeshadow that much apart from the weekends. But these eyeshadows I have discovered are so cheap and amazing quality, I just had to share them! 

Wet n Wild is a brand in the US, and unfortunately we can't get their products in the UK. As far as I know they are a drugstore makeup brand and I have heard many good things about their eyeshadows from US youtubers! You can get some of their products from amazon, but no stores actually stock them in the UK. That was until I found some of their products on a website that sells discounted makeup. Admittedly it is probably products that are discontinued, but it's a great way to try out their stuff for super cheap prices. I have also got some of their lipsticks which are equally amazing and super pigmented but it's the eyeshadows that really amaze me and I have been loving to try them out.

Overall I think their eyeshadows are amazing. The pigmentation is top quality, yet they are available at such cheap prices! I think these are great if you are on a budget but you want some decent quality eyeshadows! 100% worth trying out!

NYX butter glosses!

I'm back with another review today. Recently I brought some items from NYX.  I love to buy stuff from them every now and again because even though their products are affordable, they are not cheap enough to buy all the time. I think nyx is really underrated in the uk. You can only buy stuff off of their website which is why I think that is, but they do some amazing stuff and I think everyone deserves to have a little bit of nyx in their makeup collection!

Anyway I'm completely going off subject!! I purchased two of their butter glosses which are fairly new. I've been wanting to try them out since they were released and have only just got around to buying them! 

I got mine in the shades 'peaches and cream' and 'cherry pie'. They are £5 each which I think is affordable. The gloss is quite thick and almost like the Rimmel apacolips lip laquers, but more like a gloss than a laquer. 

The pigmentation is really good and they are super glossy. The colour lasts such a long time on the lips and the product isn't too sticky. Because it's nyx products I wasn't expecting them to be rubbish, I thought they'd be fantastic and of course they are! They don't do many colors available but from the few you can get, they are really flattering shades. I chose peaches and cream because it is a pretty peachy bright pink. And as for cherry pie, it's a typical red gloss, which is something I don't have in my gloss collection! Overall I would recommend checking out these glosses. They are really pretty and great quality. Nyx products never fail to impress me and these are just brilliant. If you like a thick gloss then you'll love these. Plus they smell amazing! A little trip to Boots...

So today I've been to good old Boots. I only went to pick up a couple of essentials, but £52.33 later, I exited the shop.... It's all ok though, it's my pay day today and I've had a week off work on holiday so I thought a little treat was much needed. Most of the products I picked up to try out, but I also got a couple that I needed to restock on.

Boots had 3 for 2 on certain skincare products, so the next three items was what I got in that offer.

Vaseline Cocoa Radiant Lotion - £2.99
I have been looking at getting this lotion for a while, as I love Vaseline products, as well as anything with a cocoa scent! My skin is always quite dry so I wanted to get a new lotion that can help, and hopefully this one will. Seeing as this was the cheapest skincare product out of the three I got, with the 3 for 2 deal it meant I got this for free. But even still, at £2.99 it is really cheap.

Palmer's Gradual Tanning Moisturiser - £5.35
I have heard many great things about this gradual tanner for a while now, and again seeing as it's cocoa scented, I jumped to buying it. This is something I have decided to give a go, as I haven't used gradual tanners for a long time and I've heard it gives you a really nice natural glow. I do like fake tans, but I've liked to have my skin more natural recently because it's so dry, so I think this will be great because it will give me a glow and moisterised skin as well.

Vichy Idealia Cream - £22.00
Now this is my pricey purchase of the day, however I do love this product. I first tried it in a Glossybox and immediately fell in love with it. I used it as a daycream to moisterise my face before applying my makeup. It left my skin feeling soft and refreshed, plus the smell is gorgeous - it smells like raspberries! It's not too heavy on the skin and makes you feel awake, so I finally bit the bullet and got it despite the price. But the sample I had lasted such a long time, so I expect this will too.

Bourjois Bronzing Powder - £5.99
Everyone seems to rave about this bronzer, so again this a 'try-out' product as I'm a little bit fed up of the bronzer I'm using at the moment. I like the packaging, I think it looks cute and you can get this is two shades so I got the slightly lighter one. It smells nice too which is always good!

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - £3.99
So many people seem to use this powder so I thought I'd give it a go. I am currently using the Natural Collection loose powder which I do like, but I felt like a change. And everyone raves about how good this is, so at the price of £3.99, I would be silly not to give it a go. I got it in Transparent as I don't want a powder that will take the colour of my foundation away. I think this will go nicely with my Mac studio fix fluid.

Loreal False Lash Flutter Mascara - £10.99  each.
I LOVE this mascara. The only downside being that it isn't exactly cheap and it doesn't last long at all. Loreal had a deal on some of their mascara's, 2 for £15. So I thought I would save my self some money in the long run and pick two up now, that way I'm all stocked up! I do love this mascara though, the brush is amazing and it really seperates your lashes. It makes your lashes look amazingly long, almost like they are false. I prefer this to the benefit they're real mascara, it's that good!

A few Elf buys...

I recently got a few bits from Elf again, and I like them all a lot so i thought I would share these beauties with you!

I only got 8 things, and at the time they had 50% off which is always useful! So, what did I get?

I love Elf brushes. I think they are brilliant quality, especially the basic range which are all £1.50 each. So I picked up the Eyelash and brow wand, which is something I had needed in my makeup brush collection for a while! I got this just to use to brush through my eyebrows before and after penciling them in. I've used it a couple of times since I got it, and it's really easy to work with, so I'm very happy with that. They also do little disposable ones which could come in use if you want to use them for travelling.

The other brush I got was an Eye shadow brush, which was again £1.50. I always need/use eye shadow brushes, so I thought I could do with another one. Last time I ordered from Elf I got a eye shadow brush from the studio collection (which are a little bit more expensive at £3.75, I think..), and I thought I'd see if the basic range eye shadow brush is similar quality to the studio one. And they are basically the same, apart from looking different. So I know now that the basic range of brushes are just as good quality as the studio range. But as for the brush I got, it's good quality and brilliant for applying eye shadow to the crease line.

I also picked up the Mineral Foundation Powder in Light, which was £5. This was something that was a re-purchase, as I really like to use this powder over my foundation for a more tanned look (preferably when I'm wearing fake tan). You don't get a lot of product in the pot, but it looks stunning on, and seeing as it had 50% off anyway, I couldn't resist!

I picked up one of the Shimmering Facial Whips in Spotlight, and this was £1.50. I have tried this product in a pink colour before, but found the colour and shimmer formula spit. I really liked the shimmer of the product though and thought I would try the white colour to use as a highlighter, and the consistency of this one seems a lot better and so far hasn't spit!

Now I have a seriously bad addiction to blushers, so it's no surprise I brought one of the studio blushes, as these are fantastic quality/great pigmentation! This was in the shade Candid Coral and was £3.75. This is a very light nude colour with coral hints, and is matte so has no shimmer at all. I think this would look great in warmer weather with natural makeup, so this is a blush I'm looking forward to wearing in the summer.

I also picked up one of the baked blushers in Passion Pink and this was £3.75. I have tried one of these blushers before and they are lovely and shimmery. This is a gorgeous shimmery baby pink, but it's a shame Elf only do these blushers in 5 different shades, they need more!

Elf also do baked eye shadows at £3.75 each, so I picked up this one in the shade Toasted. This is really pigmented, and shimmery too. It's like a bronzed gold/brown, and looks great for day to day makeup. Again there are not many shades to choose from with these eye shadows  but I'm hoping they do more shades in the future.

The final thing I got was the Wet gloss lash and brow clear mascara, which was £1.50. This is again, another repurchase. I absolutely love this clear gloss, I use it to set my eyebrows and both ends are basically the same product so you can use both for your brows. And at £1.50 it's a brilliant bargain and lasts for ages.

ELF Mineral Lipstick and Cream Blusher Review!

So, I'm back! Getting quite eager to blog again!
So I just got a cheeky little ELF order through the post ( I had to make an order with their sale they had on! ), and I've got a couple of new favorite products that I would like to share!

Firstly is the cream blusher, which I had been umm-ing and ahh-ing over whether to buy or not. Usually it's quite pricey at £6-ish, but it was in the sale for £3.50 which is a total bargain. I got mine in the shade 'Vixen' which is a lovely red/pink shade. I am in love with this blusher and I totally recommend to go buy this while its in the sale still! It's so pigmented and it's really blend-able. It's not what I would call creamy, it's almost like a mousse, and even in my mad mind it also reminds me of play-doh a bit (but softer). But it really is a great product and I'm glad I purchased it. I'm so fond of it that on my next ELF purchase I'm going to buy another one in a different shade. And whats even better is the fact you don't have to use much product to get good results. So it will last a long time too!

Next is one of the mineral lipsticks. This wasn't in the sale but was £5, and I got it in the shade 'Cheerful Cherry'. This is such a gorgeous lipstick and totally worth it's money. It goes on really smoothly, unlike some of the basic range of ELF lipsticks which are quite creamy. The colour is really pigmented and almost like a blood red with a shimmer to it. I really can see myself wearing this lipstick on many occasions. I usually find red lipstick a bit OTT on me when I wear it casually, but this one is so gorgeous, I can see myself wearing it casually and to special occasions.

E.L.F. Makeup Haul Review!

It feels like ages since I last did a blog post! So I'm back with a haul/review of a few E.L.F. goodies I got recently! If you check out my YouTube channel then you'll see the haul video for these items. But I just thought I would do a review on all of the items as I didn't have time to say much about them in the video!!

So the first three items are all from the studio range, which I have not got anything from before! Firstly there is the 'Studio Pout Perfector' which was £3.75. I have to be honest, I still have no clue how to use this properly. I thought it was just a lipgloss that made your lips look fuller, but apparently you dab it on your lips to give a pout effect?? I have tried doing this but it just looks stupid! So if you know how to use this, then please let me know as I feel pretty stupid not knowing how to apply it! It does look very pretty though and is a pretty colour. It would look amazing as a normal lipgloss, but that's all I can really say about it!
Next is the 'Daily Brush Cleaner' which was also £3.75. I thought this would be a bigger bottle, so I was quite dissapointed to see how small it is! Even the Pout Perfector is bigger than it! I am pretty sure that ELF used to do this in a bigger size. Other than that, I do think it is a good product. I'm not sure if I would re-purchase it simpily because of the size, and it also leaves your brushes smelling quite chemical smelling...which isn't pleasant...! The next item is the studio blusher in the shade 'Twinkle Pink' and that was £3.75. I love this blusher and will be 100% re-purchasing this! It's such a gorgeous colour and has nice golden shimmery tones to it. It is so flawless and perfect sized. Totally worth it's money and I would recommend!

Next is the 'All over color stick' in the shade 'Persimmon'. I really do like this item, even though I did think it would be bigger! It was only £1.50 so I can't complain, but it's a nice shimmery light blusher and you don't need to use much of the product to get a decent look. It also would be good as a highlighter too, as it has so much shine to offer! Next to that is the conditioning lip balm in the shade 'Strawberry Creme' and that was £1.50. I think this could of been better, as it is just a basic lip balm. I was expecting it to be an overpowing strawberry scent, but it is quite weak which was a pleasant surprise. It does the job though and keeps my lips soft, plus it's perfect size to carry around daily in your pocket! Next is the 'Zit Zapper'! I love this! It actually works which I wasn't expecting at all! Swipe it over a spot, wake up the next day and it's virtually gone! Only £1.50 too, and you don't need to use much so I can see this product lasting a long time which is always good! But try it out, it's honestly amazing! The final thing there is the 'Plumping Lip Glaze' in the shade 'Oasis' and that was £1.50. The last time I got this lip gloss I loved it from day 1. It really does make your lips look fuller and lasts all day which a must when it comes to lip glosses for me!

I move on to the 'Wet Gloss Lash and Brow Clear Mascara' which was £1.50. This was a 'try it out and see what it's like' product. And I have to say, I do really like it! It sets my eyebrows really well and also doubles as equally great for clear mascara, which is perfect for the summer! Next to that is my 'Dramatic False Eyelashes' which were £1.50. I do really like these by the look of them but unfortunatly I haven't had an occasion to wear them to yet! But they do look great and are so cheap that I really hope they are good as I would prefer to buy them this cheap compaired to normal eyelashes! I think I may do a blog post on different fake eyelashes you can get sometime in the near future, so let me know if you would like to see that! Next is the nail block which was £1.50 and is fab! I really like this and it does wonders for my nails so will buy this again!

These two lipsticks were both £1.50 and were not the same colours I ordered, even though apparently they are, which is typical for elf! But I do like them, they are smooth to apply and such bright, lush colours.

 

 

The first nail varnish here was a free one that I got in a deal, which was the shade 'Desert Haze'. I really like this as it is a nice nude colour which will be perfect to wear to work! Check out my latest YouTube video to see samples of this colour. Next is the Liquid eyeshadow in the shade 'Sultry Satin' and was £1.50. I do like this as it is a nice creamy gold colour. I prefer liquid eyeshadow to normal powder eyeshadow so I'm glad elf do these! And the last nail varnish is in the shade 'Golden Goddess' and was £2.50. I don't really like this. The glitter is nice, but it's meant to be gold and to me just looks like a smokers yellow....YUK!

 

 

 

I love the elf brushes in the basic range, so decided to get two more that I needed. Both £1.50, the foundation and concealer brush. I love them both, they are so soft and give a professional finish.

 

 

 

I decided to get another liquid eyeliner as last time I got stuff from elf I got a dark blue one which I loved. This time I got one in silver which was £1.50. This is reallt good, nice and shiny and easy to apply. Again, as I said with the blue one, I don't like the size of the brush as I think it's too thin, but I can work with it and am maybe going to buy a brush to apply this with instead. The other thing I got was the studio volume mascara which was £3.75. I am not fussed with this at all, it doesn't give volume or length and is just crap. BOOOOO!!

 

 

 

The final thing I have to show you is the shimmering facial whip in the shade 'Persimmon' and was £1.50. This is the same shade as the all over color stick which I didn't realise at first but they do look different. I really like this, It's like a cream and has a nice shimmer to it. Don't need much to apply and give a good effect!
