MAC Velvet Teddy Drugstore Dupe!

 

One of the most currently popular lipstick's from MAC is Velvet Teddy - which as we all know, recently become more popular thanks to Kylie Jenner. I've recently decided to jump on the bandwagon and purchase this lip colour, which I am kicking myself for not having done so sooner. But oh my goodness, it is beautiful! It's such a pretty everyday nude colour, with slight pink tones to it. I have also realised that I do have an exact dupe for for this colour too, which is from the drugstore - so is a fraction of the price!

The dupe I have found is one of the Maybelline Color Drama lip pencils in the shade 'Nude Perfection'. Swatched and worn on the lips, they look exactly the same. Both are a matte finish and not drying at all.

In the above picture, I decided to wear both on the lips at the same time. You can't tell any difference between the two. So if you are after a more budget version of Velvet Teddy, and don't fancy paying the full price of £15.50, then I would definitely recommend the Maybelline dupe, which only costs £4.99! I personally have found that the Maybelline Lip pencil lasts just as long on the lips as Velvet Teddy does.





Grab a bargain with branded makeup!

I love nothing more than discovering a good bargain. So as you may imagine, when I came across a website that I've never heard of before, that sells makeup at discounted prices - I was very excited! The website is www.saveonmakeup.co.uk , and they sell branded products at discounted prices. They don't just do makeup, they also do perfume & skincare. They sell a variety of different brands, drugstore and high end. They are very similar to places like TK Maxx, or the website fragrance  direct, they sell products that are discounted for various reasons. Whether it be discontinued products, old stock, testers, unpopular items. Now obviously with websites that are new to me, I am always careful in case the products are fake. But I did my research, and they seem to be 100% real. I had read customer reviews, and watched videos online, and I haven't heard a bad thing about them. Also you can tell from the different variety of products that they sell, that it is a legit discount website.

I had seen someone on youtube do a haul video of products they got from the website. One product they showed in particular was from the limited edition Alurring Aquatic range that Mac brought out a few months back. Obviously being limited edition, the products from that range are not readily available anymore, unless you can get them from discount outlets, or websites like this!

Unfortunately they only had the one product from that range on the website, but they were selling it a bargain price of £19.99, when it would of usually been around £26. But of course I had to buy it, as I only managed to get one item from that range when it was available - not to mention, I also adore the packaging!!

The product is the Extra Dimension Bronzing Powder in the shade 'Aphrodite's Shell', and it's a gorgeous bronzer which is more suitable for the paler skin tone.

Postage was really good as well. It cost £2.99, and came securely wrapped in bubble wrap. Delivery was also very quick - I placed my order on a Sunday evening, and got it on the Thursday.

I definitely would recommend to check this website out. I am going to be ordering more stuff from them! If you see something you want, grab it while you can, as I think once the stock is gone, it won't be coming back.

MAC 'Rebel' Dupe

The lipstick 'Rebel' by MAC, probably has to be one of the best autumn lip colours EVER! 
I recently purchased it and have become obsessed by it! It's the perfect berry purple and just screams autumn! However...I have now come across a dupe for this lipstick. And this dupe happens to only cost £1!!

The dupe in question is called 'Rebel with a cause' and its by Makeup Revolution. Makeup Revolution do a lot of dupes for higher end brands such as Too Faced, Urban Decay & Stila. And they are blooming amazing at it! I love their products because they are so cheap and yet they are high end quality. I guessed that this lipstick would be a dupe for Rebel, seeing as the name of it would also suggest so too! I decided to buy it seeing as it was only £1!

Makeup Revolution 'Rebel with a cause' £1



So as you'll be able to see from the above pictures, the two lipsticks look exactly the same. They are the exact same shade of colour and I do believe that the Makeup Revolution lipstick was made to be an exact dupe of Rebel. The two lipsticks do have some differences though, and that can really weigh up the decision of what one would be best to buy.

MAC's 'Rebel' is a satin finish lipstick - meaning its neither matte nor creamy, but more in-between the two. MAC lipsticks are very pricey as many of you I'm sure will know! And recently the prices seem to have gone up again to £15.50. This lipstick is so pigmented and so easy to apply. It does sometimes bleed a little, so is always best to use a lip liner prior to applying it. The staying power is fantastic - it stays on for hours and you barely need to touch it up, even after eating and drinking. 

Makeup Revolutions 'Rebel with a cause' is such a fantastic dupe, and it only costs you £1 which is amazing. The colour is exactly the same, however the finish is different. It is more of a creamy lipstick, so therefore is not going to stay on your lips anywhere near as long as rebel does. It's really easy to apply and doesn't need lip liner as much as rebel does, however using a lip liner would probably help to make the lipstick stay on longer.

The two lipsticks are both fantastic and are also both worth purchasing. If you are on more of a budget, I would obviously recommend the Makeup Revolution dupe. And the same if you are wanting to try out Rebel, but are not sure if the colour will suit you. If you want more of a long lasting lipstick, then rebel is for you! It will obviously cost you a whole lot more than the dupe, but it will last longer and you will honestly fall in love with it. 
I think both lipsticks are fantastic, but which one you choose depends on you and what you are willing to pay. I would recommend both though, and I know I will get a lot of use out of them this Autumn!!

Favourite autumn lip colours!

Recently I have been a bit obsessed with all things autumnal. I have been loving the change from the summer to autumn and I can quite safely say autumn is my favourite season! I find when autumn arrives I not only change up my clothing, but also my makeup and nail colours! So today I thought I would share my favourite autumn lip colours!

I had been recently thinking about all of the great new products that I have discovered recently and using religiously. So I thought I would do a 'favourites theme' on my next few blog posts, showing you my favourites makeup items, skincare, hair care, nail polishes, etc. I thought I would start off today with my current favourite makeup items, as I do love my makeup! These products are just what I have been reaching to use everyday and loving the most!

MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC20:
I have been loving this foundation so sooooo much since I first purchased it a few months ago. I usually was a drugstore foundation girl, but had got a bit fed up with the same old foundations and wanted something a little more pricier and hopefully better quality! And it is no doubt that MAC products are brilliant quality and this foundation is a beauty! The coverage is brilliant and it matches my skintone perfectly! I find you need to hardly use any product at all as a little goes a long way, and it also stay on all day which means no touch ups, yay!! I was originally only going to use this on special occasions, but it's become one of my most used foundations as I never have any problems with it looking dry, patchy or oily. It just really is perfect, and despite the high price, I would still re-purchase it 100%!!

Ardell Fabulous Lashes in 'Tokyo':
I literally love these lashes so much! They are so natural looking and blend in with your natural lashes perfectly. They do look like they would look fake and in general a bit over the top, but when I fist put these on, they looked gorgeous! They are just a little bit longer than my natural lashes so they don't look fake at all, and they brighten up your eyes, making them look big! These are perfect for night's out when you want a casual but glam look, and even better is the fact you can get these for 99p (YES 99P!!!!) from cosmetics fairy! www.cosmeticsfairy.co.uk

Accessorize Baked Blusher in 'Scandal':
I am a big fan of baked blushers and I love the fact they are shimmery. One of my all time favourites is this one by Accessorize. I have had it for about a year now and it's still pretty much full! You get 8g of products for £4.99, and this blusher is really pigmented and has a gorgeous glow.I love the colour of the products - a lovely warm toned pink with a gorgeous shimmer running through it. It gives your cheeks a natural glow as well as a lovely burst of colour.

Benefit Powder Time Lover:
This little set of powders by Benefit is a little box of luxery. You get two blushers (Dandelion and Coralista) and you also get the Dallas bronzer. I have been loving the bronzer in the little box, it gives me such an amazing glow and warmth to my skin! It blends in super nice into my skin and looks really natural. I have also been loving the coralista blusher for when I'm wearing fake tan (as a darker blush), it looks really pretty! As for the Dandelion blush, as you can see I haven't used that as much but it's really nice for natural makeup days!

Emite Eyelash Curlers:
I got these curlers from a Glossybox and absolutely love them! They are super sturdy and feel very comfortable to use. They make my lashes look longer and they stay like that the majority of the day. Over the years I have tried various curlers but none have worked as well as these!

Urban Decay Naked Flushed:
I have been loving my flushed palette! This little palette from the naked range is a blusher, highlighter and bronzer combo and is only £20! I have been using the highlighter every single day as it gives my cheek bones a gorgeous natural glow and blends in so easily. The bronzer is also lovely and perfect for day to day wear. Maybelline Rocket Mascara:
My holy grail mascara is the loreal false lash flutter, but I have found myself reaching for the rocket mascara alot more recently! I find this mascara so easy to use and because the brush is so huge, it fully coats your lashes and makes them visibly longer! The only downside would be that it's not waterproof, so you often get the product under your bottom eyelashes. But thats no problem as next time I will just get the waterproof one! I think this is the best Maybelline mascara ever out of them all! 100%!!

Bourjois Color Boost in 'Peach On The Beach':
Again this is another product which I have done a full review on so go check that blog post out for more info! But I am in love with this chubby stick! The finish is glossy but also the product stays on for at least 4 hours! The pigmetation is amazing the colour is a gorgeous pinky peach. This is such a flattering product and I have found myself reaching for it daily!

My Top 5 Favourite Summer Lip Products!

I have been loving a variety of lip products this summer. But a few have really stood out for me and I keep going back to them day after day. Sooooo, I thought I would share these favourites with you!!!

MAC Lipstick - Pink Pearl Pop
I love Mac lipsticks, and there are so many colours I wear all the time, but this one has really stood out for me. This colour is so gorgeous and is the perfect shade of pink. It borders on the line of being wearable for the daytime and nightime, and it is so pretty! I love the smell of this lipstick and it isn't too drying as it is a creme sheen finish. I have been really liking to wear this in the day time with simple eye makeup, but it also serves well as a brilliant lipstick for a night out!!

Topshop Lipstick - Saint
I adore this lipstick! Not only is the scent delicious, the finish/texture of it is so creamy. This is a perfect day to day lip colour - it's very nude/ with a slight hint of pink. It is super hydrating and leaves your lips looking healthy and natural. I have been liking to wear this to work for a simple look, but I think this lipstick is so versatile it also could look great on special occasions with a smoky eye. 

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream - Tokyo
This is such a girly lip colour that I have been loving to wear in the day time recently. The texture of this product is so creamy and really not drying at all. And the smell....OMG - delicious!! But this is really a proper nude pink, and it borders on the line of being too nude but if you blend it in well enough it really does compliment the shape of your lips. I have had a lot of compliments wearing this recently and it seems to go with any makeup look too!

Rimmel Apocolips Lip Lacquer - Celestial
Everyone knows about the apocolips lip laquers and everyone has a favourite. Mine just happens to be this one. Although I'm not that keen on the scent - it's like a mixture of plastic and watermelon! I love the finish this product gives. It gives the intensity of a lipstick, and the glossiness of a lip gloss. As you can see the pigmentation of this is amazing and it lasts such a long time. The colour is a dark pink/purple, and is perfect for nights out and special occasions!

ELF Mineral Lip Gloss - Pageant Princess
This is by far my favourite lip gloss out of my whole collection!! I literally love this gloss so much and it such a beautiful flattering colour. It looks perfect on it's own and over the top of a nude lipstick. I have been loving this for day to day wear and it is my go to gloss. It's a product that I will make sure I'm stocked up on because it flatters my lips so well and really makes any bad makeup day look great!!
